Doyle & Taylor Physical Therapy
I started this business with my business partner in 2007 when I had a one-year-old. One of the many reasons I did this was so that if I ever needed to be off, whether for an emergency or for a field trip, I could do so without difficulty from higher-ups who would often make you feel guilty for having to make that choice.
I think that family-life balance is very important. As a physical therapist, I work off a schedule of patients, which allows me to change hours or days worked easily to accommodate for those times when I need to focus on family while still meeting the needs of those I care for at work.
Our employees are the most important asset to our company, and we do our best to show them that we understand that family needs to come first. No one plans to have an emergency.
We have had employees in the past who have had unexpected emergencies and were unable to work, for several months, so we paid their health insurance premiums to make sure they did not lose their coverage. We purchased a wig for an employee because she wanted one, but could not afford it, and she was undergoing chemo for leukemia. We kept these employees’ jobs for them to return to work once they were able. We do our best to be family friendly while still providing high standards of excellence in the care of our patients in the community.
