2023 Mother’s Day Jewelry Design Contest winners have been announced by local jeweler and contest sponsor Zachary’s.
“I made a heart because my Mom always likes to spread her love and is really friendly.” That’s what 5th grader Jackson from Indian Creek School said about his jewelry design for the 12th Annual Zachary’s Jewelers Mother’s Day Design Contest. “I love the sentiment behind the design and the heartfelt message. We really appreciate the opportunity and this has been a great experience,” said Jackson’s Mom.
Jewelry Design Contest Rules
For the twelfth eighth straight year, Zachary’s invites area fifth grade children from public and private schools to submit their designs for the Mother’s Day Jewelry Design Contest.
The directions are simple: using pencil or ink on a standard size sheet of paper, create a jewelry design that incorporates something about mom. From over 200 entries, the Zachary’s team selects 25 finalists who are invited to a special brunch where they are all honored and three are selected as winners.
Zachary’s custom jewelry craftsmen create the pieces from design drawings and are presented to the Moms at the event.
Zachary’s Jewelers Chief Operating Officer Constance Polamalu said, “Our Fifth Grade Mother’s Day Jewelry Design Contestants, prove year after year that custom jewelry design inspiration can come from anywhere or anyone and turn into not only a beautiful piece of jewelry but a time capsule of love.”
Zachary’s contest coordinator Leslie Rollins added, “The smiles, hugs, and happy tears shared by everyone are the perfect demonstration of the connection and meaning that a special piece of jewelry holds. Every entrant has already discovered that the real reason to creating and submitting a design comes straight from the heart.
