An Anne Arundel County school student has been named the winner of a national T-shirt design contest sponsored by P.S. from Aéropostale.
Daniel Shevchenko, a fourth grade student at Solley Elementary School in Glen Burnie, is one of five grand prize winners of the national “P.S. What Makes You Smile” contest. He will receive a $500 gift card and $5,000 for his school.
Almost 50,000 kids from across the country showcased their artistic talents in the contest, which ran from Oct.1 through Nov. 15. Students from grades 1 through 5 were asked to pick up a brush, crayon or even a pencil and design a t-shirt to show the world what makes them smile.
A winner from each grade was selected. Daniel was the grand prize winner from among all of the fourth graders who entered nationally.
In addition to the gift cards, Daniel wins P.S. from Aéropostale T-shirts for all of his classmates and 50 T-shirts with his winning design for friends and family.
