Cool off under an indoor night sky
It doesn’t get much cooler than sitting in a dark, air-conditioned planetarium, learning about space. The atmosphere in a planetarium is a calm, welcome break from running around in the muggy outdoors. And the extra bonus is, it’s educational.
A couple options in the area include:
Maryland Science Center, Baltimore
The show “Sky, Live!” in the Maryland Science Center’s planetarium changes monthly to highlight what is visible in the night sky at that time of year.
“As the sky changes over the course of the seasons, our planetarium staff take viewers on a live exploration of what to look for when they get back home,” says Christopher Cropper, senior director of marketing for the Maryland Science Center.
Cost: $18.95-$24.95 including admission to the Science Center
